Uzun Kimono-Elbise / Floorlength Kimono-Dress + Yeniden Değerlendirme / Refashion

Herkese Merhaba!

Hey Everyone!
I wish I could be more prideful in the project I completed, but it didn't go as well as it was planned. This chiffon fabric I bought from the open market had prints I found too much for dresses or skirts, so I decided to make a kimono and drafted my own pattern.

Even though I gathered lots of ideas online, I'd like to say that I drafted my own pattern and were  quite pleased with it. :)

Kalıp bu, üstündekiler biraz karalanmış da olsa... French curve= riga cetveli

This is the pattern, even though it's full of scrabbles...

Şifon kesmek gerçekten zor bir şey.Kolaylaştırmak adına kumaşın hem altına, hem üstüne kağıt sermek işe yarıyor, kumaşı stabilize ediyor.

Cutting chiffon is hard. To make it easier, you can put paper both underneath and on top of the fabric, it stabilizes the fabric.

I sewed the edges, (with tons of pins), but when I attached the back piece and tried it on I realized, the back piece looks so different than the front piece and it also looks defected. so it's not something I'd wanna wear outside. Since I was bummed, I  didn't add the ruffles to the sleeves.

So, what do you think?

Now, onto the refashioning project. We bought this skirt online with my sister, but didn'T like the fit later. It's made out of this very heavyweight fabric (like scuba fabric?) and it didn't fit the floorlength style, so I decided to make it midi length. Then that didn't work out either, so I made it a pencil skirt.

(O orta dikişi ben de sevmiyorum...)

(I don't like that center seam either...)

  1. I really love how the fabric works in the kimono. And I agree: too busy for a dress. I like the length as well. And great job on the refashioning of the skirt. Looks so nice and trendy in midi-length. Love the moto jacket too :)
